Sunflower House Volunteers are a very special group of people…a group that becomes like old friends. We are all volunteers here, working together to help people and make a difference in our community. As a Sunflower House Volunteer, our house is now your house, too. You are the family that makes our house a home. You are the ones that represent Sunflower House in our community. Your smile, your friendliness, your willingness to be of service is special! And as you will find out, we are not here just to pass out information. We are here to listen, offer comfort and compassion, and extend the priceless gift of friendship.

No one can do it all…it takes a group effort, with many hands
and hearts helping along the way. As a Sunflower House Volunteer, you are welcome to join any one (or more) of our committees to keep our house growing and expanding:

Family of Volunteers

We work together as a team to help people find resources and solutions for difficult problems. In doing so, we will encounter some of life’s most sad and tragic situations and circumstances. Some have no satisfactory solutions. Sometimes all we can do is “be there” for these people. It is at these times that we may be at risk ourselves of “taking on” someone else’s problems and making them our own. Or problems may arise between us as volunteers, or in our own personal lives. We are here to assist and support each other… as well as the people who come to our home.

We are our own ‘support group’ in getting through
whatever life happens to throw our way!
It is what “family” is all about.
